I
love a good chicken recipe. Did
you know that there are about 25 billion chickens in the world? I remember a time where chicken nuggets
or strips were the favorite food of my nieces and nephews.
I
truly loved this dish. The
marinade was wonderful and had a lot of flavor. I have never made a marinade before today. I always purchased one from the
grocery. This was extremely fast to make and great tasting. Most people love
chicken, but this was above and beyond great. The bacon and cheese topping and added spices gave this dish
an amazing taste. This dish is very filling and only really needs a side salad
to make it complete. The chicken
was moist and full of flavor. Yeah Ree!
Creating
these recipes has been such a joy for me.
I actually look forward to cooking. So far all of these recipes have been loved by my critics as
well as myself.

Today’s critics: The Serpico and Lehman Families
Serpicos: “Really good. Gigi loved it.
I liked the way the chicken tasted by itself, really juicy and moist.
Nicholas would like it without the bacon. He would maybe eat this
again. Joe said it was very
flavorful and that he would eat it again.”
Brandy sent the
following: “Ranch Style Chicken - OMG! Becky, absolutely amazing, The first and
second night ;). Delicious! I've never had bacon and chicken together, um,
heavenly. The marinade made the chicken so moist and flavorful. I
did mine on the stove top, put the lid on to melt the cheese and heat the
bacon, so easy and tasted great, Cory loved it too. Will definitely make this
recipe, over and over.”
Craft Corner
I
have a very large set of books called Gifts
of Good Taste. They include many yummy recipes and creative gifts that
accompany them. For instance one of my favorite books gives the recipe for individual
pies which is accompanied by a stenciled cloth to go in a basket to give as a
gift. Another book has a recipe
for Toffee Almond Cookies and a cute cross stitch cloth to go in a basket.
There are specialized books for holidays and specific topics. I strongly suggest you go on line to Google
and enter “Gifts of Good Taste.” Look through the different types and see what
you think. I love them all, and of
course I bought all of them because you never know when you will need to create
a quick gift for someone. The
holiday may be over, but it’s not too late to buy something special for
yourself.
Random Reflections
I
love this photo. I was driving
home from Plano, IL when I turned down a quiet country road. I instantly noticed the telephone poles
extending as far as the eye could see.
I had to stop and take a picture. It was as if they were soldiers
standing guard over the barren fields.
I loved the solitude and wide-open spaces around this little road. You never know what you will encounter on
a journey into the country.
I love that they appear to go on forever |
Wants and Wishes
Life
can be filled with simple pleasures!
I discovered one for myself that I indulge in every month. I treat myself to a relaxing massage. My massage therapist is Marissa at
Tranquility Spa in St. Charles. A massage is a wonderful treatment for the body
that increases circulation and soothes your sore, overworked muscles. It is an hour of peaceful relaxation
that is good for both the body and the soul. Let’s hear it - massages for all!
