Today’s Recipe and

I figured out that there are 295 calories
per dumpling (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the
specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)
As
a teacher, apples have been a frequent gift received throughout the years. Doctors always tell us that apples are
the healthiest food in the world. As a person whose heart is in AFib, the apple
is the perfect fruit. Apples help
control the fat in the bloodstream and so this is really the fruit for me.
When
I read the recipe I was surprised that Mountain Dew is used in a recipe. What
were they doing when they thought about pouring a can of pop over a pan of
dumplings? What this an accident
or a planned event? This recipe is one of the fastest desserts to make. I followed the recipe to a T and loved
every bite for two days. This is a
keeper. This is another Ree masterpiece!!
This is just a bite of pure happiness! |
Today’s critics:
Brandy Lehman and Nicole Serpico
Brandy: “Apple Dumplings - Yum, Yum Yum! And just from the looks of them, they seemed fairly easy. Totally I will be making those and thinking I could even get Nick to eat them.”
Nicole:
Suggestion – ‘do not leave the dumplings in the dish until the next day. The
dumplings become soggy or doughy on the bottom.”
Random Reflections
I
love this little cute barn. This little beauty sits next to Mighell Rd. west of
Jericho Rd. southwest of Sugar Grove.
What does someone keep in a barn this size? I’m sure it holds a tractor and maybe some small equipment.
I loved the shadow of the tree upon it’s wooden sides. It stands alone – no house… no other
buildings. Just a little cute barn
across from a country cemetery.
Irksome Ideas and Images
Commercials
are a really annoying part of television.
I am aware that this is a necessary evil because they pay for the shows
we enjoy. I am trying to enjoy a Hallmark movie and the commercials come on and
blast me out of my seat. I know they are louder to get our attention, but REALLY??? I did hear that the
networks have to reduce how loud the commercials are, because the people have
had enough! I like to be informed
about products, but I am not so foolish to be convinced to buy a produce just
because of a paid star or sports athlete. Ok – so they must work or why would a
company put out the big bucks? I
guess I have to just live with it because I do like my t.v. and they are a part
of it. No more whining – I am just
going to sit back and cry – not about the commercials, but at these blasted
Hallmark shows which always make me shed a tear…or two…or three.
