Pumpkin Spice Muffins with Cream Cheese Frosting
Found
in: The Pioneer Woman blog
I figured out that there are
277 calories per serving, if 12 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie
counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to
use.)
I didn't do a very good job frosting them but they tasted amazing |
Boy, oh boy, do I
love Ree’s muffins and scones. The cream cheese frosting makes me smile to just
remember the rich taste I enjoyed. I absolutely love these muffins and would
even be bold and daring and eat these in the summer. Now that is not to say they are not the perfect winter
holiday treat, but they are just plain ole great no matter what time of year it
is now. Join me and enjoy your own little pumpkin treat.
Trivial Triffles
Illinois
has had some wicked storms in the spring and summer. I love these photos of the
storms moving in a few weeks ago. I snapped these pictures of the stormy sky. I
immediately thought of the Garth Brook lines where he says, “and the thunder
rolls…..” Of course that wasn’t about this type of storm but the thought just
popped into my head.”
They look all smeary (is that a word??) |
I love the shapes that form as they roll in |
Memory Musings
In
the late 70’s, I became friends with Pam Berle. She shared a family story that
has stuck with me today. Her Mom, Mrs. Berle, who I knew from my church, was
the victim of a lightning strike.
Of course in those days there was no such thing as a cell phone so our
phones were all attached to the wall. Pam’s Mom was talking on the phone when
the wire transmitter was struck by a lightning bolt. The lightning ran down the
wire, into the house, through the receiver at her ear, and through her body to
the ground. She had a terrible scar where the bolt when through the side of her
body.
After
I learned of her lightning strike I rarely ever talked on the phone during a
storm. Even today, I do not like to talk on the phone during a storm even
though I know we are relatively safe.
