Today’s
Recipe and Location: Pioneer
Woman’s Favorite Burger Ever
Found
in: The Pioneer Woman blog
I figured out that there are
422 calories per serving, if 8 (1/4 burgers) servings are made. (Please note that the calorie
counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to
use.)

Just look at all of that blue cheese on the plate |
Ree has another
tremendous success with this amazing burger. I so loved it, and the secret
ingredient for me might have been the caramelized onions, blue cheese, and what
I call the spicy secret sauce. I loved every minute that I devoured this burger
and was actually sad when it was gone. It was filling however, I still long for all of the amazing flavors.
Gabbin’ About Gratitude
I
am so grateful for my neighbor and friend Joe Sortino. Joe mows my lawn every
week, helps with electonics, created this blog, and helps me out around the
house with heavy lifting, changing lightbulbs, and carrying heavy objects to
and from the basement.
Joe
is nearing the end of college and is an amazing athlete, a brilliant student,
and a nice person. Joe has something that I have not encountered many times –
an amazing work ethic. He completes every job to the best of his ability, which
is great. I am picky when it comes to my lawn and house, and Joe was definitely
taught the correct way to complete a task. I thank his parents for teaching him
well.
My
hat is off this week to Joe Sortino.
Entry 2 of a Day at the Farm (Cattle)
|
This is a large calf that is already weaned |
|
What is that? |
|
Even though she doesn't need it - it called to her! |
|
Now for the big boys and girls |
|
They are huge and powerful |
|
All moving right toward me |
|
These guys are getting a little too close for comfort |
|
Stop and smile for the picture |
|
These three were a little aloof |
|
This one was my favorite because she really stood out in the crowd |
I loved the cattle. They are amazing animals. I loved visiting this field and enjoying the "moo cows".
Memory Musings
Fireworks
displays are fun for many people, but for me they are my personal nightmare. I
love to see the city displays brighten the night sky, but my problem lies with
the neighborhood amateurs who shoot them off near my home.
My
biggest fear is that someone will accidentally start my home on fire. All it
takes is a dry week or something stuck in a gutter to start a blaze that could
destroy my home or kill my little family.
A
horrible side effect of fireworks is the terror it brings out in my dogs. I
heard or read somewhere that the statistics showed that the Fourth of July is
one of the major causes of pets running away. I like to think of it as
escaping. Our childhood dog ran away due to a fireworks display. It took us two weeks of endless
searching to locate her. She had run almost five miles away in her fear, and
was taken in by a Geneva family. They debated about keeping her, but finally did
the right thing and located her owner. Nowadays, many dogs have chips that help
locate their owners. I will always be grateful that that family gave us back
the pet we loved.
