This recipe is exactly like the
chocolate chunk recipe with the exception of the substitution of M & Ms for
the chocolate chips. I added the correct amount of flour and the texture of
these cookies was spot on. Between the two cookies, I loved the M & M ones
the best. Could it be because candy is wonderful???

Fabulous “Family and Friends” Food
This is such an old recipe from
1973 when I was a High School Junior. I took a Home Economics and this was one
of the recipes we made.
High School
Snickerdoodles
Ingredients:
½ cup
butter
½ cup
shortening
1.5
cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 + ¾
cups of flour
2 teasp.
cream of tartar
1
teasp. baking soda
¼
teasp. salt
2
Tblsp. sugar
2
teasp. cinnamon
Directions:
Heat
oven to 400 degrees. Mix
thoroughly butter, shortening, 1.5 cups of granulated sugar and the eggs. Blend
in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded
teaspoonfuls into balls.
Mix
2 Tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Roll the dough balls in the cinnamon mixture.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet. Makes 6 dozen cookies.
