Week 56 Sunday (2/8/15)

Recipe Review
Today’s Recipe and Location:  Bagel and Cream Cheese Baked French Toast
Found in: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: A Year of Holidays
                  Pages:  12 - 13     Copyright:  2013  Harper Collins

I figured out that there are 300 calories per serving, if 15 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)

This was another good recipe. Each baked French toast was very different, but they were all very good. Kids would definitely like the basic recipe best. If you like sweet French toast, then the best choice is the Coconut – Ginger dish. The bagel cream cheese French toast was not sweet, but with all of the spices on the bagels is was really good. Many of the folks at school ate these dishes without syrup. They said they stood well on their own. Yeah, Ree.

Everything bagels are the best

Just look at that cream cheese

Cheese #2 - There is never enough cheese

Now comes the glue that holds it all together

Add the spices last

Trivial Triffles

February 8, 1987 was a very important day in my life. That was the day that I became a Godmother to my beautiful niece. Maddie is such a wonderful person. She is full of laughter and love, and brings so much joy to my life. She is now an engaged, bride-to-be, and I am so happy for her. I am so honored to be her Godmother, and her friend.

 A Relaxed Maddie

Breathtakingly beautiful

One of the loves of my life!

Memory Musings

I was looking through photos the other day, and came across some pictures from Marge and Tom Lindholm’s picnic from Aug. 17, 1980. The Lindholms were famous for their summer picnics on their Wisconsin farm. It was so much fun to see our extended family. Our Chicago cousins were usually there, and this was the one time of year when we got to visit with them. My Mom was very close with them because she spent a great deal of her childhood with these cousins.
I have a special love for the Lindholms. I have wonderful childhood memories skiing with their family as well as the Nybergs in both Wisconsin and Colorado. This was such a happy memory that brought a huge smile to my face. Memories are a blessing.
