I
figured out that there are 186 calories, if 35 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the
specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)
These
were good old fashioned sugar cookies. I did decorate them like Ree did in her
book: with colored sugar. I would actually prefer them to be iced, but that is
my sweet tooth talking.
Here are the ingredients that I used to create this recipe.
I began by creaming together the butter and sugar.
I slowly added in the oil
and the eggs.
The next ingredient to add to the mix
was the confectioners sugar
How can it be wrong to add this sugar??? YUM!!!
I mixed in the vanilla
Now, on to the dry ingredients.
I mixed them together in a separate bowl.
I slowly added the dry to the wet ingredients, and
carefully and slowly mixed them together.
Try not to ever overmix.
I tried to make these cookies in two ways. The first was to flatten them with my thumb, and then add to sprinkles.
My second version with put on in balls and then sprinkle at the end.
I think the sugar stuck better to the flattened version,
but I liked the look of these rounded cookies.
I used blue, green, and orange sugars
After giving cookies to the Serpicos and Mansours,
I wrapped the remaining dough in Saran Wrap and then in foil
and popped it in the freezer for a later date.
Another successful Pioneer Woman recipe!!!!
