Today’s Recipe and Location: Chewy Granola Bars
Found
in: The Pioneer Woman blog
I
figured out that there are 476 calories, if 8 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the
specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)
I
liked these granola bars. They were chewy which is better for me than the
crunchy ones. I would change one ingredient for me, personally. I was not a big
fan of the pumpkin seeds. They always get caught in my teeth, which annoys me.
They did give a great flavor, but I think that I might add in some nuts
instead. I believe in following Ree’s recipes exactly, unless it can’t be
avoided. It would not be fair to give my opinion on Ree’s recipes, unless I try
my best to stay true to her recipes.
I began by mixing the dry ingredients.
Into the bowl, I combined the Old Fashioned Oats,
dried cranberries,
pumpkin seeds,
almond flour,
(Thanks Emily for this flour)
ground cinnamon,
and finally the salt.
I stirred them all together.
Then, I set the dry ingredients to the side.
On to the wet ingredients.
I began by melting the butter.
I added in the honey and corn syrup.
I let them all melt together.
I let it boil for a few minutes.
I loved pouring it into the dry ingredients.
I poured all of it into a greased 8 x 8 pan.
I used my greased fingers to compress it in the pan.
Be careful because it is hot.
I cut them into soft, chewy bars. Yum!!
I shared these with the Barnett family and my bank.
