What the Beck???

Today’s Recipe and Location: Hazelnut Nutella Cookie Bars
Found in: The Pioneer Woman blog
http://thepioneerwoman.com/food-and-friends/hazelnut-nutella-cookie-bars/?printable_recipe=91406

I figured out that there are 268 calories, if 12 servings are made. (Please note that the calorie counts vary depending on the specific brands of ingredients that you choose to use.)

These are great bars!! They have a lot of flavor and are so easy to make. I shared them with the Barnetts and my working crew: Jerome and Travis. This is a recipe to go to when you are in a hurry.

These cookie bars begin with the dry ingredients.
I measured in the flour,

salt,

and baking powder.

Now on to the other bowl.
In went the butter,

that I mixed with the brown and

granulated sugar. I also added in the
egg and vanilla. Where is that camera?

I mixed it on low and then combined with the
dry ingredients. Then I took out half,

and spread it into the greased pan with my fingers.

OOPS!  Skipped a major step. I spread the
Nutella over the bottom dough. Here is the other
half of the dough that I placed atop the Nutella
that is really hiding below the surface.

Final ingredient was to sprinkle on the hazelnuts.

I used my hands to push them into the dough.

Here is the pan, fresh out of the hot oven.

Ready to share with friends.

If you look carefully, you can see the brown
Nutella layer. Better late than never.

What the Beck???

 Horseback Riding with Friends

Billy Barnett was so kind to go to Carol's house
to pick up two of the horses.

As the horses were leaving the trailer,
Mister and Snow watched attentively.

Carol is a good friend of Denise Barnett.
This is Dottie who just finished her
second ride in a trailer. She's a beautiful girl.

This is Carol's other horse Admiral Roy.
He is so sweet.
Dottie was quite interested in the other horses.

Charity is another of Denise's friends.
She is a talented horse trainer.

Let's get that blanket on her.
Dottie is so regal looking.
Saddle up!!

Snow is almost ready to go.

Who's there?

Charity took Dottie over to the circular
corral to let her get rid of some of her energy.

 She is spunky!

Denise decided to work with Snow
to tire her out a little, since this the
first time these horses were together,
Snow was not quite acting like herself.

Carol is such a sweet person.
I am so glad that I got to meet her today.

Carol and Admiral Roy almost ready to go.

 Dottie and Denise.

The cattle that are left are out in the pasture.

I am so blessed to have Denise in my life.
She is my dearest friend in Kentucky!!!
She is full of joy and happiness.

Carol and Admiral Roy are ready!

Charity and Dottie, are ready too.

Thank you girls for letting me be the photographer.

The peanut gallery

Off they go down the Lane.

 Back up the lane,

 and on to the cattlefield

 for a longer ride.

Going, going, gone.

Glendale Crossing Festival
October 21 - 22

The trio that went to Glendale:
Arneida, Linda, and I

I was checking out these rag quilts.
They were 5 by 5 squares. My rag quilts
are larger than these were.

I was surprised that they were charging
$25.00 for these little gems.

Someone had found an old mirror and stenciled
"The day will be what you make it."
Arneida said it was great to read this right
before you walked out the door each morning.
I loved it and her idea!

People everywhere

All of the sudden, a parade of vehicles appeared
on the road behind us.
Here comes a tractor. I love Kentucky.
We only had fire engines in our parades.

The crowds were getting bigger.

There goes an old car in the parade.

We had to stop and get to know this little
cutie. There were a lot of animals at this
festival. I felt bad for them. There were just
too many people around them.

Christmas is definitely approaching.
There were so many Christmas/Winter items.

Scissor holders were created out of a pot holder
and some decorations. I will make some of
these to sell next year.
